Choir Application

Applications are now being accepted for participation in Missoula, Montana's ninth International Choral Festival, July 17-20, 2013.

Participation is open to choirs of all ages and voicings. Choirs are screened by the Selection Committee based on their musical ability and participation in the Festival is by official invitation only. Selected choirs are expected to participate in the entire Festival program. Participating choirs also waive all fees and rights to audio and video recordings made or authorized by the International Choral Festival during the course of the festival, and agree to sign a release waiver relative to these rights upon their arrival in Missoula.

Fees: There are no application or participation fees associated with Missoula's International Choral Festival.

Lodging: Once selected, all choirs must finance their travel to and from Missoula. Choirs who travel from outside of the United States will be housed with local families and provided all meals during Festival week. Domestic choirs are responsible for arranging their own accommodations and meals, however are included in all group meals and social functions.

Deadline: There is no official deadline for submitting an application, however because applications will be reviewed in the order received, interested choirs are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Invitations will not be extended after the maximum capacity for participation has been reached.  

INSTRUCTIONS

To apply, choirs must submit all of the following items as digital files attached to an email (or multiple emails if the files are too large for one) and sent electronically to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. :

    1. Download the CHOIR APPLICATION FORM and save it on your local computer. Then complete the application. It is a PDF document which you may type information into, save, and send as an attachment. Or, print a copy, write in your information, scan the document, and send as an attachment.

    2. A recent MP3 recording of the choir (within the last 3 years with current conductor). Please include at least three pieces, but no more than 4 pieces, preferably of contrasting styles.

    3. A short biography of the choir, not to exceed 200 word count, including the choir's history and other items of interest (for example: recordings made, awards received, or festival participation).

    4. A biography of the choir's conductor, not to exceed 150 word count.

    5. A current color photo of the choir, for publicity purposes, if the choir is invited. Please submit digital photographs (.Jpeg preferred; .TIF acceptable) of high resolution (minimum 300 pixels/square inch at 4"x5" or 120 pixels/square cm at 10.16 x 12.7 cm).
